一、签证申请的流程

1. 在线填写DS-160申请表格，链接请见：https://ceac.state.gov/genniv/

2. 预约签证面谈时间

1) 如果您未满14周岁或已满80周岁，或者您有2007年11月以后签发的美国签证，您也许不用亲自去美国使馆面谈。请浏览续签的相关要求。

2) 要预约签证面谈时间，请先到中信银行购买预先付费的加密电话卡或登陆签证信息服务中心的网站购买通话密码，费用为通话12分钟花费54元人民币或通话8分钟花费36元人民币。任何未用完的分钟可留待下次使用或转给他人使用。

3) 买到预先付费的加密电话卡后，请致电签证信息服务中心预约签证面谈时间或咨询签证问题。请在致电前准备好以下信息：申请人全名、护照号码、身份证号码、联系方式、访美目的、在华常住地以及以前是否被拒签过等等。因此发生的所有长途电话费用将由致电者担负，通常30秒钟内电话即可接通。

4) 签证预约平均等候时间：签证预约平均等候时间是指从您致电签证信息服务中心进行预约起到签证面谈之日中间的等待时间。请点击链接查看美国驻北京大使馆商务及旅游签证(B1/B2)、学生签证(F、M)、交流访问学者签证(J)及其它非移民签证类别的签证预约平均等候时间。

3. 签证面谈当天（过安检、领号牌、提交资料、留取指纹、与签证官面谈等）

1) 在签证面谈当日，您除了需要携带签证必备的申请材料外，还需携带您准备的所有支持性材料。欲知签证需要哪些必备材料和建议携带的支持性材料，请查看美国非移民签证的具体类别。非申请人不能陪同申请人进入签证申请大厅。

2) 签证面谈时，每位申请人都必须单独向签证官证明自己的情况。申请人需要事先做好准备，以便面谈时能够在没有亲属或法律代表等人陪同的情况下单独向签证官说明自己在中国的约束力和此次赴美的目的等。

3) 唯一例外的是14岁以下的孩子可以由成年亲属陪同面谈。在某些特殊情况下，残疾人也可以由人陪同。如果需要人陪同，请在面谈前几天将原因传真至(86-10) 8531-3333（这里指在美国驻北京使馆面试）。

二、签证当天注意事项

1. 到达相应的美国使领馆后，一般先在使馆外排队等候，申请人通常在预约时间前30分钟左右到达等候。

2. 美国使馆放行进入，需要接受安全检查，较好不要随身携带任何电子产品（包括手机），也不要携带背包、手提箱、公文包或手推童车等（这些都需要先留置在安检处，离开时领取）。申请人只能携带跟签证申请有关的文件进入使馆（可用文件袋或资料袋装即可）。

3. 根据美国使馆内部工作人员的指挥和安排，申请人到达指定窗口递交签证申请表和材料，之后一般是被分组进行指纹扫描，然后等待签证面谈。整个时间大约3个小时左右。

4. 被安排到哪位签证官的窗口进行签证面谈都是当天当时随机安排的。通常情况，每天美国使馆面签的人比较多，开学前期尤甚，因此进入美国使馆前解决好喝水和上厕所的事情会比较方便。

5. 如果签证申请得到批准，美国使馆会将签证印在护照上，并将印有签证的护照在面谈后的3-5个工作日内邮寄给获签者。以北京使馆为例：如需加急服务，可以选择在面谈之日后的第二个工作日到北京市朝阳区政府下属的签证服务大厅(紧邻美国使馆签证处入口)内开设的中国邮局自取签证。

6. 签证退还所需时间指签证官决定签发签证后，将护照和签证退回给申请人所需要的工作日天数，请点击使馆网站相关链接查看有关通常情况下签证退还所需时间。

7. 某些特殊情况，如申请需要进行行政审理（一般指背景调查）、需补充支持材料或需要进行打假调查等可能会影响签证申请的审理速度并推迟签发签证的时间。

8. 请注意：签证申请的审理等候时间不包括进行行政审理的时间。行政审理需要额外的时间。一旦签证申请需要进入行政审理，所需时间将视每个申请的具体情况而有所不同。目前行政审理的平均等候时间是16周。

三、学生签证材料清单：

美国留学申请学生签证的申请人应该提前做好准备, 以便能够在面谈时出示下列材料和其它任何与签证申请有关的支持材料，清单如下：

1. 有效护照

如果您的护照将在距您预计抵美日期的六个月内过期，或已损坏，或护照上已无空白的签证签发页等, 请在前往美国使馆面谈之前先申请一本新护照（同时携带新老护照）。

2. DS-160表格确认页

请在上面注明您的中文姓名、您中文姓名的电报码、中文家庭地址、公司名字及地址。请将您的表格确认页竖着打印在A4纸上。面谈时请携带打印出来的DS-160表格确认页，不要使用传真的确认页。

3. 一张照片：

携带一张在面签前6个月内拍摄的2英寸x2英寸(51毫米x51毫米)正方形白色背景的彩色正面照。请用透明胶带将您的照片贴在护照封面上。

4. 签证申请费收据原件:

您可以在中信银行在中国的任何分行支付签证申请费140美元(896元人民币)。请将收据用胶水或胶条粘贴在确认页的下半页上。

5. 含有以前赴美签证的护照，包括已失效的护照。

6. 学校通知书、填写完整的学生和交流访问学者信息系统(SEVIS)表格：

填写完整的I-20A-B表(发放给F1学生)或I-20M-N表(发放给M-1学生)必须由学校指定官员(DSO)和申请人本人签字。表格上的姓名必须与您护照上的姓名完全一致，并已被美国的学术机构输入SEVIS系统。同时不要忘记学校的通知书，有些学校是电子版的，只要打印出来就可以了。

7. SEVIS费收据：

大多数J, F 和 M 类签证的申请人现在必须支付维护学生和交流访问学者信息系统(SEVIS)的费用。请在前往使馆面谈时携带电子版收据或I-797收据原件。

8. 在中国有牢固约束力的证明：

出示经济、社会、家庭或其它方面约束力的文件，以帮助证明您在美国短暂停留后有意愿返回中国。

9. 资金证明：

证明您有能力无需工作即可支付在美停留整个期间的费用。

10. 研究/学习计划：

在美期间计划好的学习或研究工作的详细信息，包括您所在美国大学的导师和/或系主任的名字及电子邮件地址。

11. 个人简历：

详细描述您过去在学术和工作方面的经历，包括一份所发表文章的清单。

12. 返校老生的学校成绩单:

欲返回美国学校就读的老生应该在申请签证时递交所学课程的官方成绩单。

13. 导师的个人情况介绍:

已经在美国大学里被分配了导师的研究生应当带来导师的个人情况介绍、简历或网页打印件。

请注意以上材料并非毫无遗漏，在面谈时出示以上文件也不能确保您获得签证。您必须提前做好准备，以便能够在面谈时合理解释您去美国的目的和回国的理由，并出示相关证据证明自己的陈述。

针对学生签证，美国签证官面签时主要审核该申请人是否符合学生签证的要求。因此面签不要紧张，要准备充分，自信做答。材料准备是一方面（有时签证官可能都不会看除了护照与录取通知书外的其他任何文件），更重要的是临场表现，是否能让签证官相信，你就是一个完全符合要求的学生签证申请者。一般面签时间从几分钟到15或20分钟之内，在有限的时间里，美国签证官除了通过交谈进行判断，还会首先注意你的外表，因此具有学生的整洁仪表和自信从容的态度，也是非常重要的。
